eTip of the Week: Provide Choice in Assessment

Allowing students to choose how they demonstrate their mastery of learning targets can be a powerful way to increase engagement and ownership of their learning in ways that are most meaningful to them. It is important to make sure that all assessment options are aligned with the content and verbs within the curriculum being measured, but offering an element of choice promotes an equitable assessment environment where diverse talents and abilities are celebrated.
