CLI Support Materials
CLI offers the following support materials for professionals implementing the CLI Model or conducting ongoing staff development for school improvement activities:
CLI Staff Development Support Library CD
The articles found in the SDSL CD have been written by our highly respected CLI consultant staff. CLI consultants work in the field with many school districts and agencies; this experience allows us to continually update and improve strategies for effective methods of staff development and curriculum processes.
The articles on the CD cover all aspects of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in clear step-by-step, and realistic ways. The SDSL topics range from getting started in a school improvement process, to defining "mastery," determining the relationship between mastery and grading, or organizing effective parent-teacher conferences. You will find helpful information for administrators, teachers, parents, patrons, and board members. The SDSL articles can be used:
- as a training resource for committees assigned to do curriculum work.
- to provide information to parents or patrons about school improvement issues.
- as background reading for faculty to update them on current tasks and procedures, or to prepare them for discussion of important issues.
- as a resource for the curriculum coordinator to conduct meetings, plan and implement processes, and address issues.
- to provide information to board members, particularly in areas requiring their approval.
- as a resource for administrators in their role as instructional leaders.
- as a guide for long-range planning or for setting priorities with new faculty and administrators.
The CD format gives you an efficient way to store and quickly find all the information you need. Our search processes include:
- DO A WORD SEARCH. Go to the Word Search page and enter your key word(s). This method provides the broadest choice because it lists all articles that contain your key word(s).
- CHECK THE TOPIC INDEX. This is an alphabetical list of all major topics found in the CLI Staff Development Support Library. This method identifies articles that focus on the topic, rather than all articles that include the topic words.
- CHECK THE ALPHABETICAL LISTING. In this method, articles are listed by title rather than topic.
- CHECK THE PATHWAYS INDEX. Pathways is a schematic of the CLI Model, a school improvement plan. It allows you to find the appropriate article for each step of the model.
