CAROL S. ROACH

Carol is president of the Curriculum Leadership Institute. Before joining the CLI, Carol's professional experiences included serving as an elementary teacher, an elementary science coordinator, instructor in the laboratory school at Emporia State University, and as a curriculum specialist. Currently, in addition to her administrative duties, she serves as editor of all CLI publications. She has played a key role in the development of the CLI Model, particularly in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Carol has presented workshops or served as an on-site education consultant to districts in more than half the states. She has written dozens of articles and books on school reform, curriculum, effective methods of teaching, and citizenship/character education. She is also a highly respected adjunct professor in the Division of School Leadership and Middle/Secondary Teacher Education at Emporia State University.

RHONDA RENFRO
RHONDA RENFRO

Before becoming a full-time CLI consultant, Rhonda was a high school science teacher and also served as curriculum director for her school district, which implemented the CLI Model in the early 1990's. These experiences have provided Rhonda first-hand knowledge of the role of teachers and administrators in the CLI Model, and cause her work with school districts to be truly valued and appreciated. As a CLI consultant, Rhonda has worked with a wide variety of districts across the Midwest and in the South, ranging from small, rural districts to very large metropolitan districts. She is especially proficient in governance issues, and in the creation of aligned curriculum and instructional design, as well as the interpretation of assessment data, and accreditation issues. Rhonda also is an adjunct professor with the Department of School Leadership/Middle and Secondary Teacher Education, The Teachers College, Emporia State University.  She teaches online graduate classes in curriculum and instruction.

STACEY BRUTON

Stacey has been involved with the CLI Model throughout most of her teaching careeer.  She has been a member of CCC, served on and chaired SACs, and spent four years as a local curriculum director.  Most of her teaching experience has been in the area of middle school science at both small and large schools in Kansas.  Stacey has been on school improvement teams which focused on assessment preparation, data analysis, and building accreditation.

HEDDI CRAFT

Heddi's first teaching experience was in a district that chose to implement the CLI Model, so she has first-hand knowledge of how the classroom teacher is impacted by the resulting changes.  Her subsequent experience as a teacher in both rural and urban districts has strengthened her belief in the use of the Model, and she has written numerous publications focusing on practical classroom applications.  Heddi has conducted training in all aspects of the curriculum development process, and is a specialist in outcome analysis to develop Lesson Plan Resources.

CLI Board of Directors
The Curriculum Leadership Institute (CLI) is a non-profit service organization committed to helping American schools and districts improve the quality of student learning.  In order to accomplish that goal, the CLI's own management structure must be cohesive and collaborative.  Therefore, the Institute's expanding Board of Directors has a diverse membership that includes education and community leaders who serve various constituencies, as well as selected members of the CLI staff who are in the position to know client needs and serve as advocates for the field.  That unique administrative structure allows the CLI to be more open to new and emerging educational priorities, as well as to consider and help solve local issues experienced by clients.
